Dr Cynthia Thaik and the health care staff of the Holistic Healing Heart Center are happy to report that participants in our eight-week weight loss program reported their Ideal Protein weight loss results, which were very encouraging to see. Our dataset of twenty participants (10 men and 10 women) varying in age from 20s to 70s lost substantial amounts of weight per week on average. The men in our program lost an average of 4.7 pounds per week, while the women lost an average of 3.7 pounds. To put it another way, the average weight of the men in our study was 258lbs on Day 1, and 220lbs on Day 56, the final day (a decrease of approximately 15%). Similarly, the average start weight of the women in our study was 243.1lbs on Day 1, and 213.8lbs on Day 56 (a decrease of approximately 12%). These results are very encouraging for the Ideal Protein program and for those seeking rapid weight loss results. Of course, given the relatively small size of the sample group, this data is not indicative of the results everyone will experience. Nevertheless, the universally positive results do indicate that most people who embark on the program are also likely to experience significant progress on their weight loss goals.

How Much Weight Can I Lose on Ideal Protein?

The Ideal Protein diet’s goal is to lose body fat and maintain lean muscle by inducing your body to burn its fat stores for energy instead of sustaining itself only on the food you eat. Is it Harder to Lose Weight for Women?

Studies show that women typically have lower proportions of muscle mass and higher proportions of body fat than men. A portion of fish and chips that might be an appropriate amount of food for a man may be contributing to weight gain for a woman. There is an unfortunate psychological component to weight loss that makes it harder for women to lose weight, and that is the amount of pressure put on women to work towards idealized bodies. This can make it harder for women to lose weight because of the urgency of the messaging: results are required as soon as possible. Instead of being patient with themselves, women will take drastic measures like cutting out entire food groups with fad diets, or starving themselves. If severe changes to food intake are not carefully administered as part of a monitored weight loss program, these behaviors can lead to ‘yo-yo dieting’, where the body lurches between losing and gaining weight in response to extreme conditions it is subjected to.
